I have not had the faucet freeze up once this winter since I've used it. I use the thermostat to control a 5 watt light bulb inside a styrofoam box over an outside faucet. It works flawlessly.
So far have been using 4 winters and every winter we always have at least one hard freeze and never a problem. I also have one for the pump and plumbing pulling water out of the lake for our lawn sprinkler system where the pipes are exposed. Only thing I'm worried about is the bulbs burning out so I wish they made one with two plugs so I can plug two lamps into each one so I have back up bulbs. Have several of these set up for our vacation home when we don't use it in the winter. It rarely freezes up there but when it does, I don't want to have to drive up to check on the place so I have several of these set up in areas where pipes could freeze with heating lamps plugged into them.
It keeps my solutions from freezing. I also purchased one to run a ceramic heater in my work truck. I highly recommend this product. Purchased 3 of these to keep alpaca water buckets from freezing. They work great.
Working over a year now. Using this to turn on a ceramic heat lamp in a dog house, works perfectly. Wish it had an adjustable temp setting but for turns out to be the right temp range for the pups.
Great product. The dogs love the heat too as the house does not get too hot or too cold. I purchased this for a heat lamp out in my doghouse. It works well as I have seen the light come on and turn off.
